DODGE, 50 YEARS OF MUSCLE CARS
A HISTORY OF PASSION AND PERFORMANCE
The 1960s and 70s saw the rise of the classic American Muscle car, bringing drag strip power to everyday roads. The Dodge Brand was a one of the pioneers of the field with the original Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger making a lasting impression due to their speed, power and style. Now with today's technology behind them, the revamped Challenger are back on the streets: designed for the strip but ready for real life.
WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN A MUSCLE CAR?
Ready for the thrill of pushing your limits in a machine designed to deliver the utmost in power and performance? Take on the challenge in a muscle car like the Dodge Charger or Dodge Challenger. Built to take on the road in style, muscle cars deliver on the promise of their looks with power and acceleration under the hood to match. And when compared with the muscle cars of old, modern-day muscle cars also offer the advanced safety, security and technology features that drivers have come to expect, making these powerful machines as capable on a road trip as they are on the drag strip.
The Dodge Brand has a deep history of power and performance, both on the track and on the drag strip. With available engines like the Supercharged 6.2L High-Output HEMI® V8 engine, the Supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 engine, the 392 HEMI® V8 engine, the 5.7L HEMI V8 engine and the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine, the Dodge Brand pulls no punches.
When choosing a muscle car, look for details on the power your car’s engine generates. The more horsepower and torque it can generate, the faster and quicker it can go. How fast can it cover a quarter mile? How quickly can it accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour? You’ll likely never need to push your vehicle to its limits, but isn’t it nice to know how far you can push it?
The original muscle cars were the result of a DIY ethos that saw owners customizing the look and performance of their street-legal cars with upgraded engines, personalized decals and more. Today’s muscle cars tend to have distinctive looks, with available wide fender flares, prominent functional hood scoops and stunning profiles that combine to make a vehicle that’s functional as well as fashionable.
Dodge Brand vehicles offer you a choice of available packages that combine aesthetic and practical features, so you can make sure your vehicle looks as good as it performs. Available badges indicate the power that’s under the hood, while available stripe packages, custom hoods and striking exterior colors let you show off your personality.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
Drivers today have high expectations when it comes to the available safety and security features offered on their vehicles, and modern-day muscle cars don’t disappoint. With available driver assistance features like the Blind Spot Monitoring System, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning , LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning and more, muscle cars can be well equipped to help keep you and your passengers safe and secure. Dodge Charger and Challenger also include the ParkView® Rear Back Up Camera and available ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System, which help make moving in reverse safer and more secure.
For more than a decade, modern-day muscle cars like the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger have been built for protection, with steel safety frames and side guard door beams engineered to protect the cabin in case of impact.
While your muscle car was bred for the strip, it’s likely that most of your driving will be done on the streets. Lighten up your day-to-day drive with the convenience of entertainment, information and communications at your fingertips.
Dodge Brand muscle cars offer available Uconnect® touchscreens that feature available smartphone connectivity, Navigation, Hands-Free Calling and more. In addition, available Dodge Performance Pages let you keep track of your vehicle’s real-time stats, from engine performance to the actual exerted g-force of your vehicle.
