DODGE CHARGER DAYTONA Charging Guide – Europe - KW Auto
- Vehicle Charging Capabilities
The Dodge Charger Daytona is engineered to deliver high-performance electric driving while maintaining flexible charging capabilities.
- Dual motor all-wheel drive system
- AC onboard charger: up to 11 kW
- DC fast charging: up to 180 kW
Charging performance may vary depending on infrastructure, temperature, and battery state.
- Charging Standard & Compatibility
The vehicle is equipped from factory with the American charging standard (CCS1).
- Current standard: CCS1
- Future compatibility: NACS (from Model Year 2027)
Since the most common charging standard in Europe is CCS2, adapters are required for both AC and DC charging.
👉 This is a normal technical adaptation for US-spec vehicles operating in Europe.
- AC Charging(Home & Public Stations)
AC charging is typically used for:
- home charging
- workplace charging
- public destination charging
Technical details:
- Adapter required: CCS1 → CCS2
- Maximum charging speed: 7.4 kW (single phase)
- Vehicle capability: up to 11 kW (limited by adapter and infrastructure)
Important:
Actual charging speed depends on:
- charging station output
👉 In real-world conditions, AC charging is ideal for overnight or long periods (8 hours at work).
- DC Fast Charging (Highway & Public Fast Chargers)
DC fast charging is designed for:
- long-distance travel
- rapid energy replenishment (from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes)
Technical details:
- Tested peak charging speed: up to 180 kW
- Adapter required: CCS1 → CCS2
Smart charging management:
The vehicle allows adjustment of charging behavior in the on-board settings to:
- reduce peak charging power
- optimize battery longevity over time
👉 This gives customers control between maximum speed and long-term battery health.
- Real-World Charging Scenarios
Home Charging
- Best solution for daily use
- Stable and cost-efficient
- Typical overnight full recharge
Public AC Charging
- Suitable for city use and longer parking
- Slower but widely available
Highway Fast Charging
- Ideal for long trips
- 20–80% charging typically completed in 40 minutes.
👉 Fast charging performance depends on charger quality and battery temperature.
- Best Practices for Battery Health
To maintain optimal battery performance over time:
- Prefer AC charging for daily use
- Use DC fast charging mainly for long trips
- Avoid keeping the battery at 100% for extended periods
- Use charging limit settings when possible
👉 The vehicle includes settings to support long-term battery durability.
- Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Using the wrong adapter for the charging station
- Expecting high speeds from AC chargers
- Leaving the adapter connected at public stations
- Relying exclusively on fast charging
⚠️ Important:
Always remove your adapter after charging.
Adapters are not locked to the vehicle and may be forgotten.
- Warranty & Coverage
Vehicles purchased through KW Auto:
- Battery warranty: 8 years / 160,000 km
Vehicles not purchased through KW Auto:
- Battery warranty not covered in Europe
- Coverage available only in North America through official service centers
👉 This is a key difference customers must be aware of before purchase.
- Transparency Statement
The Dodge Charger Daytona is a US-engineered electric vehicle adapted for the European market.
While adapters are required, the vehicle delivers:
- competitive fast charging performance
- flexible usage across European infrastructure
- full usability in daily and long-distance scenarios
KW Auto ensures:
- validated charging solutions
- tested adapter compatibility
- clear customer guidance
